Yooooouuuuukkkkk

You know it’s officially playoff time when they open up the playoff MLBlogs to the masses. This year we have the treat of welcoming two similarly-bearded first basemen to the blogosphere in veteran
Todd Helton and young
Kevin Youkilis. I plan on following Todd’s blog because, like the rest of the Rockies, Todd is a good guy and generally speaks his mind without letting his ego (which is already miniscule) or cheesy pre-worded statements get in his way. The first post isn’t much, but hopefully the blog will be the same way, not to mention continue deep into the playoffs.

Youkilis’ blog, on the other hand, is called ‘Yooooouuuuukkkkk’ and I swear I didn’t add any extra o’s or u’s to that thing. Apparently he’s been doing it all year, and it doesn’t look like there’s any change in store for the playoffs. So far Kevin has enthralled post season readers with a fascinating insight into his game 1 performance, including this fantastic prose: “It was a good way to start, but I told myself, ‘Hey, don’t try to do too much. Stay with your approach and get on top of the ball.’ ” And: “Once the game started and all the craziness, I felt a little bit of nerves, but for the most part, I felt pretty calm. For me, it caught me off-guard. Usually, I get so amped up.” Fascinating stuff. Still, we’re maintaining our hardline stance on this one: comments sporting phonetic Bahhhston accents can save any bad blog…except ours. The Zone is way beyond help.

Oh, and uh, go Rockies!
