Blame the threads!

Yup, it’s the shirt. Totally. Sweating profusely, that Mark Hamels. Should have forgotten the sleeves today. You know, the guy couldn’t grip the ball like he wanted, so, hit around by a good offensive team? Nope. But, wardrobe malfunction? Check. So obviously, this one was a fluke, the Rox got lucky, and to borrow from Purple Row, the Phils start their four-game NLDS series against the Rockies tomorrow. Winner of two takes all, except the Phillies need to win three because let’s face it, the Rockies really aren’t any competition so we spotted them a game.

So again, if you’re a Phillies starter, it looks like it’s not a great day for sleeves. Also a “low” day for weed allergies, in case you were wondering.

And since that’s now taken care of, the Phillies can just go ahead and get on with winning this thing.

Phillies fans are terrifying

Again, the pressure’s on the bad guys, not the Rox. Everyone’s picking the Phillies to win this thing: they’ve got their ace going, they’ve shelled Jeff Francis this year, blah blah blah. But most importantly, let’s look at the fan bases. Back in Denver, well, we’re basically nice people aren’t we? Plus we’re just thrilled that the Rockies have finally made the playoffs! WWWWWWWOOOOOOOO!!!!! PLAYOFFS!!!! The Phillies? Well, they were supposed to be a great team this year, and those fans are from Philidelphia. In other words, murder attempts aren’t out of the question if they don’t succeed. Wouldn’t be surprised to see booing of the Phillies, the umpires, fans who aren’t booing, the baseball gods, Jesus, and maybe some other gods as well if the Rockies take this thing. So it would seem as though the Phillies have “dramatically” more pressure to deal with. Just saying.

Just imagine the headlines!

Is it okay that I want a Rockies vs. Red Sox World Series just for the headlines? Besides some great rhyming action with the whole Rox and Sox thing, just imagine the possibilites involved with sock-rocking.
