Well, we’re trying something new…

…and bringing back an old friend, the name that started it all. Welcome to the Rockies Disaster Report Podcast. The DSZ is getting back in the Rockies camp with a new podcast series that starts today, one day before the Rockies open up their 2007 MLB season. Each week (or every other week, depending on the circumstances) we’re featuring an expert guest to talk with us about the Rockies in a very un-scripted, game-show style podcast that may or may not entertain and inform you. Since this is our first go at it, consider it something like a beta test - but still feel free to leave a comment and let us know what you think.

This week our guest is Russ, from PurpleRow.com, who joined us to talk about spring training and give us his predictions for the upcoming year.

Quintuple Quad!

20 patties! I’m torn between calling this man a total whack job and calling him a king among men. I’ll go with king among men. Holden, if you’re reading this, please see a doctor. Viewer beware: the friendly, red-headed Holden who starred in the triple quad video has been replaced with a hardened, angry, blonde version. I’d be pissed if I were eating a quintuple quad too, I suppose.

I’d say the video above is a good example of the incredibly low standards of the Denver Sports Zone “writers” (sorry Holden). If you have videos of you and/or your friends eating a lot of food or doing other hilarious shit, post a link in the comments.

Take A Look At This

So school’s finally starting to wind down, and the Rockies are starting to play, and well, the DSZ boys are going to get their act together soon, I promise.

For now though, and I know this is a few days old so you may have already seen it, take a look at our friend Mark “Your Pen Doesn’t Work Kid” Donohue’s Colorado Rockies Season Preview over at Deadspin. It’s very well written, and pretty much captures what it means to be a Rockies follower these days.

I’d also like to highlight one of the commenter’s reactions to Mark’s post. From Len Bias Cocaine Surplus:

We couldn’t agree more. As always, check out Mark’s regular blog, Bad Altitude. And as soon as the Rockies start coming on TV again, we’ll be there.

Until then, I’m just glad I got the nutshot off the top of the page. The dude laughing was hilarious, but you know, it’s good to update once…in a…month. Eek.

P.S. Mark, are you really a New Trier grad? If so, I, like millions of other people, hate your former school.
